Advent of a new path..

Walking down the streets of London on a school day, you will scarcely find any student loitering the
street, why? Because they are all in school as expected, in fact various counties will send a fine to
parents of any student found loitering the street as it is considered a fine-able offence

On the streets of towns and villages in my part of the world however, it has become a normal and
regular phenomena to see underage kids loitering the streets on a school day, either hawing food
items, playing around, having football fun or doing whatsoever they deem necessary to get them out
of their boredom, and the adults on the other hand go about their regular business without batting
an eyelid.

So, I asked myself, why do we have this? Was It because the children were just not interested in
going to school and or getting an education?
An interaction with Obinna, became an eye opener. Obinna came round to a shop where a relative
worked and wanted to buy some bulk pack of sachet packed water which when a discussion ensured
as to why he was buying the bulk quantity excitingly talked about his plans to be able to retail the
product and his plan; to be able to purchase for himself some books and a pair of socks in order to
be able to go back to school, but why did he have to do this by himself? His parents are very poor
said Obinna, they can no longer afford for him to continue his education hence he has had to get
very creative from his very young age in order to be able to sponsor himself howbeit small enough to
get him back into school. His excitement was puzzling but brought tears to my eyes when the story was relayed to me, as this is the same story for a lot of Obinna’s peers up and down various hamlets and villages.

The question is what can be done to remedy this unpalatable situation.
Tardio was born out of the passion to see that our cities, towns, and villages are rid of children who
are meant to be schooled and educated off the streets and actually in school where they should be.
Tardio also intends to assist schools which have little or no infrastructure in order to ensure that when the kids are in school, these children actually have the right kind of facilities which will enable them receive the purpose they are in school in the first place. Facilities such as classroom desk and chairs, blackboards, chalks and dusters, wash basins, adequate and clean bathroom facilities should be commonplace in schools as standard

There are many different things for which one should be thankful. Simple things like food, clothing, education etc. Unfortunately, most people in developed countries take them for granted. But what if that wasn’t so? What if those things were luxury? Are you finding it hard to imagine.
